Early Life

Dacre Montgomery was born on November 22, 1994 in Perth, Western Australia. He was born to parents Judith-Barrett Lennard and Scott Montgomery-Harvey. His mother is Lebanese Canadian and his father is from New Zealand. He grew up with his younger sister, Saskia. Both his parents worked in the film industry in Australia and Montgomery began performing on screen and in theater at the age of nine. He attended Mount Lawley Senior High School in his hometown. He was voted "Most Likely Student to Become a Hollywood Star" during his final year of high school. Throughout his secondary studies, Montgomery studied the dramatic arts. After high school, he enrolled at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts at Edith Cowan University. He completed his acting degree there in 2015.

Career

In 2010, Montgomery landed his first role when he appeared in "Betrand the Terrible" as the character Fred. In 2011, he appeared in a television pilot called "Family Tree." He did not appear again onscreen until 2015 when he appeared in "Godot's Clinic" as Barnabus Stottle. The same year, he appeared in "Tryptophan" as Jake. He also appeared in the music video for the song "Old Souls" by the Australian deathcore band Make Them Suffer the same year.

In 2017, he appeared in the film "A Few Less Men" in the role of Mike. The film is an Australian adventure comedy film that is a sequel to the 2011 film "A Few Best Men." The same year, he appeared in the film "Power Rangers" as Jason Scott/Red Ranger. The film was the third installment in the "Power Rangers" film series and was met with mixed reviews. However, Montgomery was nominated at the Teen Choice Awards in the Choice Sci-Fi Movie Actor category. He also appeared in the film "Better Watch Out" as Jeremy. In 2020, Montgomery appeared in the film "The Broken Hearts Gallery" as character Nick Danielson. The film is a romantic comedy written and directed by Natalie Krinsky and follows a young woman in New York who is dumped by her boyfriend and then creates an art gallery to display items from people's previous relationships. Montgomery plays the main love interest in the film. The film was met with positive reviews after its release.  In 2022, Montgomery appeared in the film "Elvis" as Steve Binder. The film is a biographical drama starring Austin Butler and it received generally favorable reviews.

Personal Life

Montgomery has been in a relationship with model Liv Pollock since 2017. The two are both from Perth, Australia and met through mutual friends. The couple posts about each other often on their respective social media accounts and often attend events together. Both Montgomery and Pollock are ambassadors of the Australian Red Cross.

Montgomery has been open about some of the struggles he has faced in his life in the past. He suffered from anxiety from an early age and also was bullied throughout school due to his weight and interest in theater.
