Before we get to the ranking, we need to define the term "supermodel." For our purposes, a supermodel is not simply any famous person who has modeled. A supermodel is someone whose fame was built primarily through professional fashion or beauty modeling, with global recognition from runways, magazine covers, major campaigns, beauty contracts, and long-term fashion industry influence.
By the loosest possible definition of "model," Kim Kardashian's $2 billion net worth and Kylie Jenner's $700 million net worth would absolutely dominate this list. But we do not consider either Kim or Kylie a supermodel in the traditional sense. They are reality television stars, entrepreneurs, beauty/fashion moguls, and social-media empires who have also modeled.
Kendall Jenner is the gray-area case. Her fame obviously started on reality television, but her adult career has included legitimate high-fashion runway work, major campaigns, magazine covers, and years as one of the highest-paid working models in the world. So Kendall makes the cut, with an asterisk.
Hailey Bieber is closer to the line. She is a legitimate model, and her net worth is an estimated $300 million, but her financial story is now overwhelmingly tied to Rhode, the skincare company she sold in a deal worth up to $1 billion. That makes her more of a celebrity beauty entrepreneur than a traditional supermodel for the purpose of this ranking.
Karlie Kloss deserves her own special asterisk. On her own, Karlie has a net worth of $40 million, which is extremely impressive but not quite enough to crack this top 15. Her household financial picture, however, is a very different story. Karlie is married to Joshua Kushner, brother of Jared Kushner and brother-in-law of Ivanka Trump. Josh has a net worth of $4 billion thanks largely to Thrive Capital, the venture capital firm he founded. Thrive has backed or invested in a ridiculous roster of companies, including OpenAI, Stripe, Spotify, GitHub, Oscar Health, and Wiz. So Karlie may not make the list on her own fortune, but she is almost certainly part of one of the richest supermodel households on Earth.

Jerry Hall has a net worth of $70 million and absolutely qualifies as a major former model. But for this specific list, she falls into the same gray area as Slavica Ecclestone. Kimora Lee Simmons is another name readers may expect to see. She was absolutely a legitimate high-fashion model, including a famous early association with Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld, and she later became a major fashion entrepreneur through Baby Phat. But Kimora Lee Simmons has a current net worth of $20 million, which means she is not close to cracking this particular Top 15.
The same goes for several famous modern and 1990s names. Cara Delevingne has a net worth of $50 million, Gigi Hadid has a net worth of $30 million, and Bella Hadid has a net worth of $25 million. They are hugely famous, but they have not yet had the decades of compounding wealth, licensing, television money, real estate, and business exits that pushed the top names into the $60 million-plus range. And while Linda Evangelista and Christy Turlington are unquestioned supermodel legends, they are each worth an estimated $40 million, which leaves them just outside the cutoff.
So yes, depending on how loosely you define "model," this list could be hijacked by Kardashians, Jenners, heiresses, spouses of billionaires, actresses, socialites, and beauty founders. But if you define supermodel the old-fashioned way, as someone who conquered the fashion world first and built the empire from there, the richest supermodels on the planet are Gisele Bündchen and Cindy Crawford.
